Fertility in Common Retreat

We are currently on a pause from offering retreats. Please check back soon!

Join us for an intimate weekend near the Mendocino Coast for nourishing connection and gentle practices to support you on your fertility path. You will have the opportunity to go within and be in community as you experience ways to dive deep and tend to your heart, body, and mind.

We created this retreat to offer a gentle space for your heart and mind, wherever you are on the fertility map.

Fertility in Common was born out of the realization that people on this path need more care, nourishment, and community support. Perhaps your journey has been long and unexpected. Maybe you have experienced loss and are grieving. We understand the emotional and physical exhaustion of trying to conceive. Our retreat is designed to offer you respite and connection.

Retreat Facilitators

  • Hannah Schlegel, LM, CPM

    Host & Facilitator

Hannah Schlegel is a licensed midwife living in Albion, CA. She has been attending births for 20 years in the Bay Area and beyond. She co-owned Oakland Birth and Wellness, a prenatal and resource clinic, where she served a wide range of folks from preconception to postpartum in addition to running a home birth practice with her partners and dedicated apprentices. During the pandemic, Hannah bought land on the Mendocino Coast, an unexpected blessing. She put her business Woom Midwifery to rest, and began her sabbatical. During this deeply personal and reflective time, Hannah felt called to reimagine her practice, serving the community in a new light. Connecting her land and midwife heart, she is now offering supportive retreats for folks navigating fertility.

  • Aimee Ruiz, L.Ac., FABORM

    Facilitator

Aimee Ruiz, L.Ac. FABORM is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist with two thriving practices in Petaluma and Oakland, CA. Supporting people throughout their reproductive cycles for over 14 years, Aimee’s area of specialty is in the fertility and perinatal fields, where she also applies her master-level reiki training. She brings more than two decades of experience practicing meditation and qi going, as well as personal growth and therapeutic skills, all of which are integral to her work. Aimee has seen that expanding support to her clients beyond clinical settings into a retreat environment allows for more time and space to deepen wisdom, healing, and awareness. She believes the retreat experience is a powerful way to offer a deep dive into new modalities and create space to pause, feel nourished, and connect within.
